The Role of Doulas in Advocating for Perinatal Health Policies

This session provides an overview of state-level advocacy and how to engage in policymaking to shape policies impacting our clients and our work as doulas. We will review the various stakeholders commonly engaged at the state level and examine the grassroots work in Louisiana to provide doula private and public insurance coverage, and other policies pertinent to the overall health of families.
