Dr. Brandynicole Brooks is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with 15 years of experience in providing trauma-informed crisis intervention, crisis counseling, comprehensive family assessments, and family counseling in a child welfare setting. Over the past five years, Dr. Brooks has focused on the development of child welfare leaders through her position as the director of learning and development with the DC Child and Family Services Agency’s Child Welfare Training Academy. In 2010, she began providing consulting and training support to organizations and leaders focused on trauma-informed leadership through her consultancy, Eban Consulting, LLC. Dr. Brooks has been engaged in discussions of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout her social work career with focus on Black experiences and the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Her book, Black Single Mothers and the Child Welfare System: A Guide for Social Workers on Addressing Oppression, was published by Routledge Publishers in December 2015. She is also an adjunct professor of Social Work and Sociology at the University of the District of Columbia.
