Registration Waivers and Policies

Doula Spirit Fund Fee Waivers

For more than 25 years, the DONA International Spirit Fund has worked to reduce financial barriers that can prevent doulas from participating in our annual conference. It is one of the most enduring expressions of our community’s commitment to one another.

DONA International is pleased to offer a limited number of Spirit Fund waivers for the 2026 Virtual Summit. Spirit Fund Waiver Applications open July 22, 2026 and close August 31, 2026.

This fund is sustained by our conference silent auction and by contributions from members and supporters around the world. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference. Registrants can add a donation during the registration process, or contribute directly here.

LGBTQIA2S+ Fund Fee Waivers

DONA International is committed to birth equity and inclusive care across all communities. Research consistently shows that LGBTQIA2S+ individuals face disproportionate barriers during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, including higher rates of discrimination, mistreatment, and inadequate support within healthcare settings. Doulas have a vital role to play in bridging that gap.

To support members who identify as LGBTQIA2S+ or who center their practice around serving this community, DONA International has established a conference registration fee waiver for the DONA Summit. This waiver is funded entirely through the sale of DONA Pride merchandise, with 100% of those proceeds directed toward this scholarship. The number of waivers available each year is determined by the funds raised.

LGBTQIA2S+ Fee Waiver Applications will open on July 22, 2026 and close on August 31, 2026. 

Continuing Education

The DONA International Summit is one way we continue to provide the highest standard of evidence-based training and education to our members. The summit qualifies as formal continuing education for doula recertification and trainer reapproval with DONA International as well as most other childbirth certification organizations. The 2026 conference will offer 20+ continuing education hours.

Lamaze International, International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), and most other childbirth certification organizations accept DONA International contact hours for continuing education. However, it is the individual registrant’s responsibility to ascertain whether this offering meets the requirements of their certifying organization. The registrant must attend a session in its entirety to receive continuing education credit for that session.

As part of our offering to exhibitors and sponsors, we share contact lists (names and email addresses) with conference vendors. Attendees can opt out during registration if desired.

Recordings

Video and/or audio recording of any session is strictly prohibited. Professional audio recordings may become available after the conference. Your attendance at this conference indicates your willingness to be photographed, filmed or recorded and utilized by DONA International for educational and informational purposes.

Social Media

We are excited about live tweeting, Instagramming, Facebook posting, and other social media activities with #DONA2026. Remember, the goal is to provide a snippet or flavor of the session and not be a virtual session. We kindly ask that you keep this in mind as you post.

DONA International reserves the right to substitute or cancel speakers and/or sessions.
