About

2020 has proven to be a challenging year, and while we know that meeting in-person for our Summit in Calgary would have been so healing, we also know that health and safety regarding COVID-19, is of utmost importance. The 2020 conference will be held online October 15-16, 2020; and our time together in Calgary, AB, Canada is scheduled for June 23-26, 2021.

About the 2020 Virtual Conference

The virtual conference will be held over a three day period in October.  The first day will be focused on continuing education for DONA International Approved Trainers, with day two and three for all doulas and birth workers.  The core conference (without the trainers portion) will offer 11 DONA International contact hours and will be held live October 15 & 16, 2020 from 11 am ET – 6:00 pm ET. We are planning for interactive live sessions in addition to our recorded presentations.  There will also be an opportunity to connect with doulas from all over the world with our live welcome virtual cocktail hour, and member meeting.   All sessions will be available on-demand for 60 days post live events.

About the 2021 Summit

There’s something special about a DONA International in-person meeting!  Doulas and birth professionals come together from across the globe to learn and grow as we work to innovate the role of the doula in the modern healthcare system.

Next year, DONA International invites you to our in-person meeting, DONA Summit 2021: Connecting Vision to Action, where we will seek to level up by enhancing our ability to serve the growing and evolving doula profession and global families.

Learning Opportunities

The Summit will focus on key areas for professional growth offering approximately 15 continuing education hours for recertification with DONA International and other organizations that accept DONA contact hours.

About Our Speakers

The DONA International Speaker Selection Committee is hard at work cultivating an excellent speaker line-up.  The committee will be incorporating excellent keynote addresses alongside working sessions in which doulas can develop leadership skills with tangible take-homes that can be incorporated at the local, national, or international level.

We’ll be pursuing topics relevant to birth and postpartum doula work with an emphasis on ways to move vision to action.  You can expect sessions to enhance your doula skills, as well as practical business sessions.
