AI for DONA Trainers: Shaping Education and Practices Responsibly (Trainers Track)
This interactive workshop will equip DONA trainers with the knowledge and hands-on skills to ethically and effectively integrate Generative AI (genAI) into their training and business practices. The session will connect to the keynote and provide a concise overview of genAI and its implications for DONA trainers.
Together, we will explore key ethical considerations in the context of DONA’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Participants will then engage in two hands-on work blocks:
- Using GenAI for Doula Training – Practical applications such as lesson planning, AI roleplay, and rubric creation.
- Using GenAI for Business & Communication – genAI-supported creation of social media content, client communication, or outreach strategies.
Throughout the session, participants will experiment with ChatGPT, refine effective prompt-writing techniques, and discuss best practices for responsible AI use. The workshop concludes with a reflection activity and actionable steps to support DONA trainers’ practice. This session qualifies for 1.5 (DONA/CA-BRN) contact hours.
