Nikia Lawson BDT/CD(DONA)

Nikia Lawson is a Certified Birth Doula & Approved Birth Doula Trainer with DONA International. She has been assisting birthing families for over 22 years in hospital & birth centers. She is also a trained childbirth educator & serves the community as lactation educator & birth advocate.

She owns & operates The Natural Way Birthing Project, a local non-profit organization that offers education, advocacy & support to families…in an effort to bring awareness to infant mortality…primarily in the black community where these disparities disproportionately affect African Americans.

She also is the sole proprietor of Birth Blessings Birth Services and Consulting, offering prenatal, labor and postpartum support to expectant families in the global birth community. She finds great pleasure in assisting birth workers in building their businesses, as well.

Prior to becoming a full-time birth worker, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work & a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.
