Terry Wong

Terry Wong, MPH, MCHES®, CD/PCD (DONA), is a Brooklyn-based maternal health advocate, doula, and health educator known for bridging evidence-based public health with real-world hospital and community care. A Native New Yorker, Terry has 16+ years of experience developing culturally responsive education tools and programs across diverse health systems, with a focus on maternal and child health, birth equity, and reducing disparities.

Terry is the Owner, Doula, and Health Educator at @WhoosahDoula, where she supports families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with compassionate, trauma-informed, and practical education. As a New York State Medicaid Doula Provider, she also advocates for stronger integration of doula care in clinical settings—bringing her expertise to professional audiences through initiatives like OB/GYN grand rounds and cross-disciplinary collaboration with hospital teams.

Her professional affiliations reflect deep commitment to both frontline care and systems change. Terry serves as Queens Regional Representative (2026–2029) for the NYS Child Passenger Safety Advisory Board and is an active Full Spectrum Doula with Brooklyn Perinatal Network, supporting programs such as Healthy Women Healthy Future and the Citywide Doula Initiative. She has held educator and facilitator roles with NYU Langone Health, WomanKind (Trusted Support for GBV Survivors), the Black Coalition for Safe Motherhood (ACTT Facilitator), and has mentored doulas through Brooklyn Perinatal Network and the Caribbean Women’s Health Association. She is also trained through Evidence-Based Birth® as a childbirth education instructor and is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician through Safe Kids Worldwide.

Terry’s is the creator of The Birth Record: NYC Stories, a community-centered storytelling project amplifying real birth experiences and actionable resources for families and birth workers—bringing a global lens to local advocacy.
