PreCon Track B: Bridging the Gap: Support Out-of-Hospital Births with Confidence

This workshop is designed to empower doulas with the knowledge and tools needed to support clients in out-of-hospital (community) birth settings. Participants will explore the roles and scope of practice for Licensed Midwives (LMs) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) understand key considerations when working with out-of-hospital birth clients, and learn how to navigate the unique dynamics of collaborating with midwives. Through discussions, case studies, and interactive activities, doulas will gain practical strategies for building strong, respectful partnerships with midwives, enhancing the birth experience for clients, and fostering effective communication within the birth team. This class is ideal for doulas seeking to expand their skills and confidence in supporting out-of-hospital births.

This pre-con session is part of a 3-session bundle and is available as an add-on option to the main conference.
