The Somatic Womb: Integrating Menstrual Awareness & Trauma-Informed Intuition into Doula Support

The womb holds emotional, hormonal, and ancestral memory; and doulas are often the first to witness how this history shapes a birthing person’s experience. This session explores the menstrual cycle as a somatic blueprint that reveals patterns in stress response, emotional processing, and nervous system needs throughout pregnancy and birth.

By weaving together trauma-informed care, intuitive practice, and evidence-based menstrual literacy, participants will learn practical tools for recognizing womb trauma, supporting clients through pelvic tension, and tailoring communication and comfort strategies to each client’s cycle history.

Doulas will leave with a deeper understanding of the somatic womb, empowering them to offer more personalized, culturally responsive, and emotionally attuned support.
